About Us
The We Do Bamboo Foundation was established in Kenya to respond to urgent social and environmental challenges. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to using bamboo as a force for environmental conservation, community empowerment, and social transformation.
As a Kenyan foundation, we focus on restoring degraded land, creating sustainable livelihoods, and offering opportunities for women and youth. Through reforestation, education, and community-driven initiatives, we aim to build greener landscapes and stronger futures across the country.
The foundation is affiliated with We Do Bamboo, the first large-scale commercial bamboo production company in Kenya. While we share the belief that bamboo can transform both people and planet, the foundation operates fully independently, ensuring that our programs serve communities and the environment first and foremost.
Bamboo is a symbol of resilience and regeneration; restoring land, empowering people, and driving climate solutions.
Our Mission
We work to protect and restore ecosystems through sustainable bamboo practices, while helping communities mitigate and adapt to climate change.
Our programs create opportunities for women and youth, provide education and mentorship for underprivileged students, and strengthen social and cultural inclusion. At the heart of our work is the belief that bamboo can restore balance to nature while opening doors for people to thrive.
Our Vision
We imagine a world where bamboo becomes a living symbol of resilience and regeneration.
By restoring degraded lands, empowering communities, and advancing climate solutions, bamboo can create harmony between people and nature and inspire a more sustainable future. We see bamboo as a bridge between ecological restoration and human well-being, offering hope for generations to come.
