Restoring nature. Empowering people. With bamboo

Welcome to We Do Bamboo Foundation

We believe bamboo can change lives. By restoring ecosystems, creating sustainable livelihoods, and empowering women and youth, we use bamboo to build greener landscapes and stronger communities in Kenya and beyond.

Climate Action

We promote bamboo as a renewable, low-carbon alternative and help communities adapt to the realities of climate change.

How It Works?

At We Do Bamboo Foundation, everything starts with bamboo. Bamboo grows faster than trees, captures more carbon, and regenerates naturally without the need for replanting. By planting bamboo on degraded land, we restore ecosystems, improve soil and water health, and provide a sustainable resource for communities.

Once established, bamboo becomes more than a plant; it becomes opportunity. Farmers can harvest it for income, women and youth gain access to training and livelihoods, and communities find new ways to adapt to the challenges of climate change.

Through this simple cycle of planting, growing, and sharing the benefits of bamboo, we turn a natural solution into a driver of conservation, empowerment, and lasting change.
